Root Cause Analysis
Generally speaking, the root cause analysis investigates the root cause of a failure. A root cause analysis is much more extensive than a failure analysis and can also determine the root cause of electrical overstress. Root cause analyses comprise in particular:
- the investigation of the circumstances of a failure („anamnesis“)
- the failure analysis
- the categorization of the failure
- the characterization of the failure location
- the identification of the failure mechanism
